“I am a pediatrician and I worked as a pediatrician for 10 years. Social welfare for children is a domain that is closed to the pediatric medicine because is also sensitive to children’s and their families’ needs. This was the reason I had the power to make an important change in my professional career. It was a challenge that I accepted, and that gave me a lot of personal and professional satisfaction. There is an accomplishment to work in a team of professionals, and as a team to try to help those that need you.

The children always need to receive support, to be loved and to feel secure in their families. Our mission is to identify those that do not have these things and to offer them a chance.”

DORINA  MACKSAI

History with Holt:

Dorina is a Holt Romania adoptive mother. She adopted a child five years ago and benefited from all our social services. Her husband, Mr. Macksai was for almost two years member of Holt Romania Board of Directors. She accepted this position in May, this year, when our previous accountant left the team. Dorina is much familiarized with all the needed financial documents, because she used to be for a long period of time the censor of the Mures Holt Branch.

ADA DIANA GABOR

“Since I graduated psychology, I’ve been wishing to work in a place where I could help people.

My work at Holt makes me feel full-filled. I like to know that I can help people, that I can make them improve their lives. This work gives me the possibility of helping families not to abandon their children, to explain them that is very important for the child to be loved by them, even though they have not so much money.

I am convinced that the experience I gained here, at Holt, will support me to become a better human being and a professional who brings his own career to children’s and  their families’ welfare; and the last but not least, it will support be in becoming a better psychologist.

            “I am 25 years old and I am psychologist. I worked almost two years in Germany as a baby-sitter. I came home and looked for a job which can answer my purposes, help the children. In February 2006 I found Holt’s announce in a newspaper. They were looking for a new social worker. I went there with the hope I am good enough to work with them. I was accepted and I am thankful for that. They are a great team. At Holt I can gain a lot of experience and I can learn how to improve my knowledge from true professionals. The more I know, the more I can help.
